Son. Daughter. Son. Daughter. Son. Daughter. Raised the middle of three children, our mother had great respect for her mother and the talents she offered in raising her family. Mom chose to follow in her mother‘s footsteps by not only having three children but doubling that.

She is currently the matron of six children, 26 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Her years as a stay at home mother involved endless meal preparation, keeping clothes on our backs, shoes on our feet, transporting us in countless directions, and providing direction, words of wisdom and encouragement . Later as we navigated adulthood, she always had a listening ear and her own experiences to share we could learn from.

She was a hands on mom, instilling the love of stories and reading, help with school work, and was a great cheerleader to each of her child’s interests. The most important thing our mother taught us was to “Trust in the Lord with all our hearts and lean not unto our own understanding but in all our ways acknowledge him and he will direct our paths.”

Diane I.

Originally from Indiana, Diane now resides in the beautiful valley of Minden, Nevada. Diane is a mother of two girls, Mallory and Mckenna. She grew up as the only girl among 5 brothers so she earned the right to be a girl mom! Her passions include traveling, eating out to dinner, board games, and being outdoors. In her free-time, she enjoys spending time with her daughters and going new places/trying new things. She is a wonderful example of unwavering support and unconditional love to her daughters as she is always there to be our biggest fan in all we endeavor. With a loving heart, hard-working spirit, intelligent mind and funny sense of humor, Diane has been, and continues to be, an exemplary role model.

Tammy Renstrom

Tammy Renstrom is mother of two children and grandmother to 5 children that are the lights of her life. She truly is one of the most selfless people I know.  The type of mom who never cared about herself being recognized as long as she could bring a smile to her children’s face.  All through my elementary school years, she would pack my brother’s and mine lunches every single day, jam-packed full of love, and equipped with an awesome sandwich, mini root beer or sprite, twix candy bar and a ho ho with some random vegetable thrown in the mix — as well as a handwritten note on a napkin.  Now as you can imagine my brother and I were the envy of all to have a mom so “Awesome.”   She made sure our house was the house that other kids wanted to be at.  She didn’t like us being somewhere else. It worried her too much and so we had an air hockey table, ping pong table, dual basketball mini shooter and all of the latest video games you could imagine.  She made sure our home was a safe haven and a place where many could go to escape from the struggles of the world.

Tammy is a living miracle and we are so happy to have her here with us today.  She became very ill in 2018. Doctors even told us to prepare the family for the worst. They did not think she would make it through the night as the doctors and nurses worked on her, my brother and I kneeled in prayer begging the Lord to give us more time with her. Through God’s grace, she survived and has surpassed many obstacles, such as breaking her leg and surviving the pandemic of 2020.

She has a love for sports and is a die hard Utah Jazz fan that she passed on to her children and grandchildren. She loves music and has an incredible voice in which she even had the opportunity to serve our country on a USO tour when she was 18 years old.  She is our Superhero! We love you, Mom!

Jenny Lynn

Jenny Lynn

Jenny grew up in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, & was the oldest daughter in the Yacktman family. As the 3rd of 7 children, she often played “mother” to her 3 younger brothers. She was very concerned about them when she went to BYU for college. She met her husband, Mark, on a blind date at BYU, & they had 1 boy & 2 girls. Their 1st daughter had some complications with her health, & had surgery at about 1 year old, & again in junior high.

On March 16, 2004 Jenny suffered a severe brainstem stroke, & was given 24 hours to live. When she survived, her doctors predicted that all she’d ever do was blink. 21 years later, she is re-learning speech, can move her right arm & head, served as the primary president at her church for the last 5 years (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints), & has become a grandmother!

She has a blog jenannlynn.org that started as a way to share her recovery with family that was far away, & has evolved to Jenny sharing her faith, life experiences, & more!

Jenny feels humbled to be on the Wall of Honor & is grateful to her Heavenly Father for all her blessings. She’s grateful she’s been able to remain a part of her children’s & husband’s lives, & looks forward to sharing her life with future generations.

Scott Thompson

Scott is the Former Dad Translator for Momivate.

As a father of five and retired Army officer, he understands the importance of mothers and the great work they do. One can fight for freedom all day long, but without mothers to raise our children it seems like a lost effort.

Scott has experienced the typical “Father’s role”. He would leave the house early in the morning for work and return later than he liked at night. Due to his military duties he was often deployed for months at a time leaving the entirety of raising the children to his wife. Scott would take every advantage to spend time with his kids when he was home and teach them what he could. He depended a great deal on his wife for daily care.

Scott is now retired and is currently going through a divorce. This is allowing Scott to take on a different role in his children’s lives. He is excited for the opportunity and somewhat daunted by what lies ahead.

Scott is eager to serve as the Dad translator. His priorities are to help others understand and value Mothers more and to help Dads who may be in similar circumstances understand the new roles they are stepping into, covering more of the traditional “Mother’s roles”. Scott hopes to be able to share some of the insight he has gained through over twenty years of marriage, living in six countries and traveling to sixty-nine countries with kids in tow.

Scott has a Bachelor’s degree in Russian, a Master’s in Business Administration, and a Master’s in Eurasian Studies. Scott currently works in security for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He enjoys spending time with his four boys who are still at home and, when he can, his daughter who is currently studying at the University of Utah. In his free time, Scott enjoys sky diving, trail running, mountain biking, riding his motorcycle, and watching movies. Scott loves being in the outdoors, but doesn’t get there near as often as he would like.
